An 8-Bit Arcade VR Game with FPS Immersion

Outpost L5 is a VR game that would transport you to the 8-bit arcade games of the past. However, unlike the classic games, Outpost L5 is an immersive FPS (first person shooter) experience.

Game Overview

In Outpost L5, you would be hard at work defending the planet. You would be controlling a Lagrange point L5 base, close to Earth. The point is apparently the last battle station to survive and you are supposedly controlling the remainder of its ships that stand between the invading aliens and Earth. If the battle station is captured, Earth would be the immediate next target. As the protagonist, your job is to hold up things as long as possible. Aiding you in your battle would be enhanced weapons, power-ups, shields and also additional ships. However, these would be in limited supply. Therefore, using them wisely and efficiently is paramount.

Gaming Experience

This arcade space shooter game would help you recollect fond memories of 8-bit shooter games of the past. However, this first person VR element is refreshing in a unique way compared to prior arcade games. Needless to say, this new avatar works well and is a lot of fun too.Besides the VR element, this game also has quite a few other new features such as fresh death animations for the red alien and player, and faster player bullets. By the way, the game is available for both the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive.

PROS

  • Action-packed and fun
  • Nostalgia

CONS
